About the Artist
Please join me in celebrating a new year of creating art!
After teaching art for several years to precious children, I am now able to work in my home studio daily.
You'll find me in my happy place painting plein air or working from oil sketches, drawings, and photos in the studio. Painting and drawing have always been my passion. With my new gift of time, I am filled with gratitude as I continue to build a body of work and grow as an artist.
Inspiration comes from my reverence for many great painters, Impressionist and Post Impressionist painters, the play of light and dark and color in rural landscapes, and currently, imagery of places and scenes in my city of Fort Worth. I'm also inspired by, and grateful for, my artist friends at Life Drawing Sessions, Plein Air outings, and workshops. Dedication to a daily routine, inspired or not, is my joy.
I received a BFA in Studio Art from Southern Methodist University. Over the years I have done several commissioned pieces and participated in exhibits in the area. I've also worked as a Graphic Designer, Display Artist for Neiman-Marcus, Gift Wrap Designer, Exclusive Gifts Designer for N-M, and Original Art T-Shirt Designer.
